Is it a gift?
Each painting may be beautifully gift wrapped and sent directly to the recipient on your behalf. I use quality kraft paper in your choice of dusky blue, dusky pink, classic white, or natural kraft with delicate white leaves — all finished simply and elegantly.
If you wish, a coordinating handpainted greeting card can be included, carefully matched to the wrapping and containing your personal message. It is a thoughtful way to send something truly special, ready to open and treasure.
Gift vouchers are available if you can't decide!

Kind Words from Families and Grandparents
Families return time and again for my hand painted name pictures, speaking of the care, craftsmanship and personal service they receive. Many kind words come from proud grandparents and thoughtful godparents, delighted to give a keepsake that feels truly special. You can read their generous reviews below.
Can I choose my own theme?
Absolutely. You may select from popular themes such as farm animals, woodland creatures, fairies, jungle animals or seaside scenes — or suggest something entirely personal to your family. Each painting is designed around your wishes. See some design ideas HERE
Can you include toys, pets or special details?
Yes. Many families choose to include pets, favourite toys or meaningful details within the design. These small touches make the painting even more personal and unique.
What size are the framed initials
I do two different sizes, 8 by 6 inches and 8 by 8 inches.
If you are unsure, advice is always happily given to ensure the painting feels beautifully balanced. Feel free to ask!
Is the artwork a print or an original painting?
Every initial is individually designed and painted by hand in watercolour and ink. It is not a print. Each one is a truly bespoke baby gift, created to order.
Is this a suitable personalised christening gift in the UK?
Yes. This hand-painted watercolour initial makes a meaningful personalised christening gift UK families can treasure for years. Each piece is bespoke and created especially for the child, making it far more personal than a standard gift
Can I add the baby’s full name and christening date?
Yes. You may include the child’s name, birth date, christening date, or a short message beneath the initial, making it a unique baby keepsake.
What if I would like to see the design before it is sent?
Photographs can be provided during the painting process. If you feel it is not right before dispatch, a refund or repaint can be arranged. Your satisfaction is important.
How long does it take?
As each painting is created by hand, time is needed for careful composition and drying between layers. Current timescales are shown at the point of ordering, and updates are provided along the way. Usually it is between 3 and 4 weeks.
What if I change my mind?
If at the progress stage you feel the painting is not right for you, this can be discussed before it is sent. The aim is always for you to be completely happy with your finished piece.
Is an initial painting a more affordable option than a full name picture?
Yes. A personalised initial painting offers the same hand-painted quality and bespoke design as our full name pictures, but at a lower price point. It is a wonderful way to give a meaningful, unique baby gift or personalised christening gift while keeping within budget. For those wanting a larger, more elaborate artwork featuring every letter of the child’s name, our full name paintings are also available.
Where are the paintings created?
All paintings are designed and handpainted in Devon by Kate Garrett, using traditional watercolour techniques and quality materials.
Can you send the gift directly to the family?
Yes. Gift wrapping is available, and the painting can be sent directly to the recipient with a coordinating card if required.
